So... the first photos are here... from the drive back from Long Beach.
Trip Up Photos
Right when I got home H. called me and she was soo excited for me and wanted to see the car, so we went out for a drive.
Today I drove it to work for a meeting this morning. Strange how the car showed who my friends were and who are just people I work with. People I know and who like me were thrilled, yelling congratulations, high fives, and such. Others treid to talk shit, boast their car can beat mine in a race... one dude wanted me to race his new GTO, I said sure, on a track, he sighed and said that was no fair cuz he'd lose, and I said well that is where you race, on a race track, not on the fucking highway. One dude, trying to make himself feel big in his mustang peeled out in the parkinglog, almost lost it around a corner and slid his car sideways as he almsot spun... dumb ass.
It is amazing the looks I get in the car, people just don't know what to say. She is one of 698 hand built for the world in 1990, and one of only 211 ever brought to the US... so very rare indeed. I'm in the same class as Ferrari, Lambo, and Aston Martin drivers.
She is by no means perfect... here is a brief list.
Good:
All service records (belts, cllutch, everything
Mechanically sound (though no 15 year old car is perfect)
Good clutch, brakes, and such
Interior is in very good shape for its age considering it is all leather.
Clean body, no damage, solid paint.
She runs very solid... very damn fast.
Turbo runs well, no noises or vibations.
Bad:
Small electrical gremlins (known to happen on this car, slow power windows, bouncing fuel gauge, a few various small lights).
Intercooler need a little love (I'm down about 25% on power, once the intercooler is up I'll go from scary quick to suicidal!)
No AC (a coolent leak in a hose that goes into the body on the right side to track down)
A few small leaks and such at the back... to be expected with a 15 year old car that hasn't been driven much in the 5 years.
Some non stock parts put on by the 2nd owner (I'm the 4th) that will be replaced (tail lamps, rear licence plate frame, various stickers).
Overall she is good though... after wanting one since I was a little kid I've done it.
A little bit of love and care and she'll be super. She came with all service notes (6 full binders of EVERYTHING would could ever want to know about the car and how to build it).
You'll see more of her I'm sure.
As for the girl front. H. and I are still doing the wonderful I like you and you like me but were both nervous dance. We are going to prolly go to Santa Cruz on Wednesday, where I may just come out with it all... head out to a beach, out on the rocks in the evening and make a move and see if I get kissed back or not.
I thought I was nervous with the Esprit.
I'm scared with H. she is amazing and I'd give anything up for her... you name the price. I'm just afraid of failure... I wear my heart on my sleave and I just want things to work out. I want to be able to wake up next to her, smell her hair and feel her there. Just to be close and know she is there adn she cares about me, that is all I need. Damnit if only love came with manuals and tools where I could work on it...
Anways... wish me luck with H.
I don't need luck with the car, that will come with work... with H. there are more variables.

I won't say how much I paid... but I will say when new in 1990 she was about a $70,000 to $75,000 car. The last ones of the 2003.5 model sold for about $110,000. So by no means a cheap car.
Yes it is the same model even as was used in Pretty Woman and in Basic Insticnt. Alas no Sharon Stone or Julia Roberts came with the car. lol
