I was wondering something earlier, and felt like I should inflict the question on others. I asked some friends of mine whether or not the believed in God, to varying answers. I then asked them if they believed in aliens. Again, different responses. Finally, I asked them if they believed in ghosts to more different answers. The thing I find unusual about this is there were people who would tell me they didn't believe in God, but would believe in ghosts or aliens. I had a few who believed in God but not the aliens and ghosts, which I can sort of understand. But to believe in one or two things they have seen no evidence of but not another just seemed so odd to me. I'm not religious at all, so I'm not coming at it from the perspective of "He's real because the bible said it!!" I'm just puzzled that you can believe in ghosts, which to me would signify some sort of afterlife does exist, but not in a Creator type being. I'd think if you can believe in something without real proof but have faith in it, you would have the same feeling about other faith based issues. It's puzzling. I don't have a strong feeling one way or the other about which is the "correct" answer, more just intrigued by how people think about things.
