today marks 24 years of matrimonial bliss for my parents.
yay parents!

i couldn't have asked for a better marriage model than theirs. they've endured so many huge rough patches together and individually but managed to talk it out, deal with what had to be dealt with, and stay together regardless.
i don't know where i would be if the circumstances were different, and i attribute a lot of my own qualities as a partner and as an individual to what they demonstrated over my lifetime. marriage takes a lot of work, compromise, communication, compassion and sacrifice. [i thinkbiting one's tongue in certian situations helps a lot too, haha.] it also helps if you are best friends. i can only hope that i form a similar bond to my future husband...whoever he may be.
happy anniversary, mom and dad.

so, the count is up to 36/113. just about 32% of you love me enough to take my friends list cleanout seriously.
the other 77 of you sucketh, but you have until midnight to prove that you don't suck. recent arrivals are exempt. sort of.

OK, this isn't what I was going to say earlier, but have you seen the commercial on A&E for the new show Intervention, which follows people with serious addictions facing, well, interventions? They play BNL's "What A Good Boy" and it's quite possibly the most haunting thing I have seen in a long long time.

Congrats to your parents. I'm sure you'll keep your future hubby in line with body checks and elbows
