here's a little something i jotted down this morning...

well it's that time of year again. roses, chocolate and jewelry commercials abound. nauseating displays of affection surround me while the person i want to be with most is over 6000 miles away in a hostile foreign environment.

ironic, huh?

lovers of all kinds, faithful, loyal and undeserving alike will be spending their evenings with their special someones, while i curl in a ball, clinging to the few precious memories that we've made together, hoping that sleep will take me gently into his arms and away from the heartache of being separated.

perhaps it is a night to reflect and be grateful that i do have something wonderful and real...something that i've been missing for the better part of my dating life. it's been a bit strange, and very scary, but i'm realizing more and more as he and i grow closer, that the pieces are starting to come together and fit. i can't wait to find out what happens next.

alas, i still miss him terribly.
