I've been back from Iraq for about three and a half years now, and there are still some adjustments being made, but generally I'm doing pretty well.
One of the biggest things that I've come to realize about people though, is that you can't always trust them. The army is that way too, but not as bad as civilian life.
While I was overseas I loved visiting suicide girls (the tumblr page, the actual suicide girls webpage was blocked) and when I got home I signed up for a membership.
My favorite suicide girl - Carrina - was selling prints in late February of 2011, a few weeks after I became a member, and about 8 weeks after I got back to the States. I ordered a couple from her, with the intention to frame them and put them up on a wall in my apartment. (finally, real living quarters, not a tent, or the back of an MRAP, or a fucking CHU!) Then I waited....and waited...and waited. We shot messages back and forth, I was told numerous times that I'd have them any day now. Nothing.
Earlier this year I saw that Carrina was selling more prints off of her facebook page (which it looks like the whole page has been deleted ?) so I wrote her a message telling her about what had happened in 2011. She wrote back pretty quickly, was super apologetic, and after I provided her copies of the paypal receipt, some of our messages from 2011, she said that she'd finally take care of the prints. That was in April of this year, and we're almost to August.
It sucks that something like this can make me more bitter about people, but I hate being stolen from, and I hate it when people lie to me about something stupid. If you just wanted my money, you should have said so, Carrina.

It is what it is, but what it is....is frustrating haha. I just need to get some time on my motorcycle, find some fresh asphalt with nothing but the open road and horizon ahead of me!
