Just got back from hanging out with AverageGroupie for the first time, and we had a lot of fun tonight! I hope she doesn't mind if I post the details but nothing TOO embarassing happened so it should be okay.
We hung out and had some coffee, wandered up and down South Street, then went on an adventure nearly getting lost looking for Indian food. I was dissapointed to see a lot of South St. landmarks had closed down. Even Zipperhead is no longer open for business.
We finally found Cafe Spice which was our original destination... BUT it turned out they were closed for renovations!
Then something totally unexpected happened. The manager or owner guy, whoever he was, told us we could have a seat and he'd feed us for FREE!
So we sat and talked, and ate our free Indian food while other customers came in and got turned away. I'm not sure what was so special about us but whatever, we got treated like the sultans of oompapamowmow.
All in all an interesting day!
So anyway... you people should go wish her luck on her journey. She's leaving in a few days to volunteer in the urban chaos near New Orleans. Any of you in the philly/NJ area should also ask about donating. Myself, I will be trying to get my ass up in time to donate some old blue jeans and shirts and stuff.
