you shoulda heard us just around midnight...
just got home from a fabulous roadtrip to memphis. drove three hours after work on fridaywith lance and leslie. the ride was filled with great conversation, rum&coke, and scary gas station pit stops.
saturday morning was spent lounging by the pool. we practiced for a few hours till we began to sound like a real rock n' roll band. my brother in law ricky is a kick ass blues/old school rock guitar player. this was the first time he had a whole band to play with, and he was lovin' every minute of it.
after practice we all piled in the mercedes' and headed for tunica for an evening with blondie. we met some o' my sisters friends at the horseshoe for dinner. as soon as we walked in her friend tom won about 1600 dollars at the slots( which gave me inspiration to call our band-for-the-weekend 'tom's lucky bucket!!)! our food didn't make it to the table till about 10 minutes to show time, so we had to wolf down all this great food. but then it was off to the show.
and deborah harry kicked my ass. she's old enough to be somebody's grandmother-but i was totally blown away by how sexy she is! she just moved around the stage in her own little way. and she was in complete control of the crowd. i loved it.
sunday morning was again lost at the pool. we had a short practice before everyone came over. i proceeded to drink daquries, swim, and generally go nuts with my camera till we played. our 45 min set went by in a blur (i was a little drunk), but everybody loved it.stayed up late talking with my sister.
today we went to pay tribute to the king. L&L had never been to graceland, so i got a kick out of them seeing everything for the first time. my personal favorite part o the tour is the 'hall of gold'. i feel the presence when i'm surrounded by all his gold and platinum records. i could never figure out where missy lost her virginity though...
got a couple o cool sticker shots, too. and i looooved the hell out of jessica and o's new sets!
my life rules!

my favorite city is actually portland, oregon. it's just a coincidence, though!
