what an amazing show. go see bad wizard the first chance you get.
the drive to atlanta, which usually takes about 3 and a half hours, took right around 8. creeping in taillights for 3 cds,2 traffic jams, and 1 mile later, found us at a gas station buying a map for a not-so-direct route to the city for the show that started 2 hours before we made it to the fucking offramp. caffiene and high octane propelledus and the covered wagon down a country back road to a trouble free exress way to the city proper, and our wheels hit the curb minutes before the band went on.
the show was short but awesome. my buddy is super into the band and was up front singing along (even added a ric flair-esque WHOO! as the singer pulled a total rock star move holding the mic in my friends face). we hung out with the band for about an hour after the show. the were really down to earth and very appreciative of the support.
so go see bad wizard dammit!
the weather on the way down was dark and overcast, giving the feeling of driving through storm clouds without the accompanying rain and such. the ride home was shrouded in fog most of the way. add some old whiskeytown cds and you have a a trip set for melancholy reflection.
and reflect, i did.
in earnest...
