So my current car is about dead and as I love road-tripping I need a new car. I've never bought a new-new car before but I'm toying with getting a (Toyota) Scion tC. First off the base price is $16,840 and that includes a 2.4 DOHC VVT-i power plant at 160hp (you can add a TRD supercharger for 200hp and not void the scion warranty), independent struts, 17" alloys, 160 watt 6 speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 (you can add ipod control through the stereo), power windows, doorlocks and mirrors and a panoramic moonroof. Plus you get Toyota reliability and resale value. I was originally going to go for something more sporty like a Mazda Rx-8, but $3++ gas prices have made me rethink that. Of the cars I have been looking at: the Scion tC, Mazda 3s and Acura RSX Type S, the Scion tC seems to be the best value for performance/quality. The Saturn-like no haggle pricing doesn't hurt either. I want a car that gets decent mileage, rides well and quiet, and has enough power for the freeway. From the online reviews I've read the tC best fits the bill. Anyone out there have any experience with the tC?
