I liked the movie. And please, keep in consideration it is a screenplay taken from a book written in the 1930's....back then, when the book was written, there was no end to the "Sci-Fi" possibilities and EVERYTHING seemed possible because very little had been developed technologically.
Granted, they could have made the movie a lot more believable, a lot more scary, a lot less panicked...BUT...they were paying homage to Wells' book, and they did a damn fine job of capturing in the movie what he wrote in the book.
