They call this "Golden Week" in Japan, and no sequence of days has ever been more aptly named.
Any English sensei worth their salt works for the time-and-a-half holiday rate, and averages 8-hour workdays for the duration. When some of us pull down 3500 yen an hour, that's nothing to sneeze at.
Golden indeed.
It tends to suck if you fuckin' hate teaching English, but I guess that's the caveat.
