Back in March, I began writing a short horror story about cannabalistic mermaids and a cursed book. I submitted it late last month to a publishing house that is creating a compilation of horror stories involving cursed books. I talked to a friend who also submitted and he'd had his manuscript rejected, but he didn't hear a thing from them until two months after he submitted it. So, I've got to play the sit and wait game until I can start submitting it elsewhere (or hopefully start planning what I'll do with that WHOPPING $85 check when I get it).

In the meantime, I've been keeping my thoughts on another story to write about zombies and Babylonian mythology. I swear to God, I WILL make this work. I know it sounds crazy, but I will make it work. It'll be filled with terror, sex, and gore. The best thing about writing horror stories is how cleansing it is for your subconscious. One good story and I've gotten rid of the residue of a thousand horrifying nightmares. I recommend writing horror stories to anyone who has too many nightmares. I sleep very peacefully now.
