Wow, saw Werner Herzog's amazing Encounters at the end of the world last night. The end of the world in this case being Antarctica, which it turns out has a tiny little village of sorts. Everyone he meets has a story, each one is unique in it's own incredible way.

So go see it!

yes, the function one was a winner, walked in during 2652 and started laughing hysterically at the awesomeness.

So that was scientist? i was looking forward to perry, but i dunno maybe we saw him maybe we didn't, the plot was pretty much lost by then lol

I think Saturday in the main room went - Lee Scratch with the Upsetters, then the Upsetters jammed for a bit, before Scientist joined in and took to the mixing desk. I'm pretty sure some of the same band stayed on stage, but I also heard Stephen Marley was on guitar and Michael Prophet on keys/vocals. I too was in a bit of a mess by then though so could be wrong! smile

Last week I was feeling a bit bummed. I'd bought a whole bunch of music over the course of the previous weeks and it all arrived at once. A lot of music. It was going to take days to listen to it all properly. I started thinking that maybe it's just irresponsible spending so much on what's probably a luxury. You know that feeling when...

I didn't know Odd Nosdam had something recent out. I like cLOUDDEAD a whole lot, but never really gave his solo stuff too much of a chance. That Brethren of the Free Spirit stuff sounds excellent. I'll have to track these things down.

As for Otomo Yoshihide, all I have is his New Jazz Quintet's "Tails Out". Is there anything you'd recommend?

MMmmmmm Dore.
I saw a wonderful sculpture of his the other day, a huge vase embellished with little putti all playing with bugs, spiders, beetles, moths, and grapes hanging over all. It's about 5 feet tall, outside of the deYoung museum in San Francisco, sitting in a flowerbed for all to visit. So sweet and intricate.

Good luck with your paper!

ARRR!!!
