It's been a while...
The little man turned 1 yesterday! We celebrated by spending the day lounging around, chewing on some new toys, playing tug-o-war and doing what he does best, sleeping.
He's amazing, I'm not sure I'd still have my sanity if it wasn't for him. There's something about coming home to him after a shitty day of work.
We haven't taken him into the vet in a while and it seems that his Mites have gotten much better (knocking on wood now) Hopefully with his age his immume system has gotten strong enough to tackle them. We're taking him this week for a skin scrape to see what the results are.
~
My festive holiday? We'll I slept from about 9:30 to 11:15, woke up, put in the Blob and waited till the new year, back asleep by 12:05.
~
Last week I put in a 4 mile run and an hour of raquet ball, today I did about 2 1/2 miles. I really need to invest in some warm up pants, running in shorts right now isn't the brightest thing I could do.
~
Jim and Jason have spent some time putting together some guitar parts for a new project, I think Jason is going to bring his bass for me the next time and I'm going to help write some of the music before I start really writing lyrics. While I'm super excited and it's been a really long time since Auburn was together I'm not sure how I feel about putting my opinion out there again.
I have some basic ideas for lyrics, and they're not really going to make alot of people happy. It's not just the angry bitter old man syndrome either, I just have alot of strong opinions. I'm going to try to focus on keeping the lyrics 'edge' free, though at 29 I still fell pretty strongly about it.
What about a band name? Who knows, I know I have things that I would prefer but they're not going to fly...
I would love to name it Visaria or Dorian Gray.
Visaria is the name of the town where Dr. Frankenstein created the monster and the town was basically torn apart due to the devestation. And Dorian Gray is well the famous Dorian Gray from the Oscar Wilde story...
It's still in really early stages, Jim and Jason trying to figure out exactly that the sound is going to be...
~
I have alot of vacation time that I have to kill in the next three weeks, so I'll probably be off alot. I would like to take Hooligan down to Tennessee for a while so he can run around at my parents house. They have alot of land that he can run around.
And my dad is having his other hip replaced and it would be nice if I could be down there to help out.
~
I'm totally immursed into horror films once again, I've been watching an average of 2 to 3 a day. Bidding on Lobby Cards and out of print movies...basically getting ready for Monster Bash. I'm going to cut out alot of the little expenses that I have right now so that I can save as much money as possible for Monster Bash this year.
I'm still going to try to duplicate the "thriller" series with Karloff that I have so I can sell them at the bash. I figure if I sell all 57 episodes for 70 or 75 dollars I'll still be able to make quite a profit, but I need to talk to Chris's dad and see what cost is going to be for each one. Each set is 18 discs! I'm thinking about taking 10 sets with me. (If I can afford to make them all) But I'd settle for taking 5, maybe I'll just make them $100 a piece.
I know Matt has started work on his prints for Monster Bash. It should be another good time this year, I'm excited to be able to stay in the hotel that it's in this year, so I can stay up late and watch the movies without worrying about keeping everybody out.
~
I've started some of the research needed for the second chapter of the novel that I'm working on. But I guess I have some pretty hefty goals and if I really want it to come out like I imagine it, it's going to take alot of time. I really need to get a laptop so I can just work on it whenever I get the feeling too. But we'll see...like I said, it's pretty detailed.
~
I'm going to work my ass off to get Matt in with a skateboard company...I don't want to give too many details and jinx anything, but cross your fingers and we'll see what happens.
