In regards to my last post, don't worry, that won't happen too often. I'm not usually so open about stuff like that, but the I felt I needed to get that off my mind. Thanks to everyone who responded and offered thier take on it and especially those who shared thier own experiences (Mylf,PaleEnchantress,BuckyKatt666,Silvernut,Granny,and MelodyUK, you guys rock.)
My father actually heard about my trip and it's effect on me through my grandmother. So, now he's just waiting for me to call him for a time to meet and sit down to talk this all over.
Well, off of the downer stuff, and onto the good stuff. I went and saw The Hives last week, and was pleasantly suprised. The openers Reigning Sound and Sahara Hotnights were okay, but The Hives really put a good show on! That Almquist guy (lead singer) really knows how to get a crowd rockin'! He was all over the stage, up on the speakers, and interacting with the crowd, so they get an A+ for the show.
Afterwards, I met another Sony rep, and he gave me some more info on working for them. I signed up, and a few days later, an actual Sony rep from NY called me to welcome me to the team! There's also a slight chance of being paid to work the shows, in addition to the usual freebies, so I'm pretty amped about this.
And, onto last night. I made it out to BuckyKatt666's Horror Slumber Party, but not before getting lost for over an hour throughout various parts of Cambridge and the greater Boston area. After a few phone calls from the host himself (How he got my number, I don't know, but I have an idea... Some combination of Mylf and Pip, you clever monkeys ) I arrived and enjoyed a sleepless night full of horror movies that (to me) had more comedic value than horror. Well, "In the Mouth of Madness" was actually pretty good, and I now have to own a copy of "Basketcase", or my life will never be complete.
In attendance were some new faces to me, especially gentlemancaller and jamielee, who joined me with some very astute observations and comments on a few of the movies. From what I gathered, both of them are really cool people, and I'd love to hang with them again. Due to the circumstances, I didn't get to meet the other 5 or so people I didn't recognize, so I'm sorry if I didn't mention you.
And of course, the people who I have met before that were there made the night really enjoyable as well (Pip,Mylf, and plaingurl kept the couch on the ground and VIP only, alkaholic23 kept my seat warm for me until he had to leave, while CurlyOxide and BuckyKatt666 spent most of the night on the floor touching eachothers butt's. )
It was a great night, and I must thank BuckyKatt666 again for welcoming us into his home, and hosting such a great night!
