I just saw the oddest thing on campus. (Yes, the rarified environment of an inner city university campus.)
A car driving along a narrow campus road, with SMOO WAGON written in large letters across the top of the front windscreen.
("Smoo", in case you're wondering, is a particular Australian vernacular reference to a lady's, um, intimate ladyparts.)
Then, as I watched it go past in a state of mild bewilderment, I saw a whole load of stickers on the back window. Mostly of the "I survived Tamworth B&S 03", and "Shoot Ferals" variety.
(B&S refers to a Bachelors and Spinsters Ball, events held in the country in large tents, where people dress up in their best hired finery in order to get really drunk and behave really badly. "Ferals", in this instance, refers to both wild animals and scruffy hippies.)
Oddest of all, it wasn't a van or a truck or a beaten up Aussie car. It was a Volvo. Old and grumpy and noisy, but still, a Volvo.

For dinner, mostly.
