Hello there.
Right now, I'm recovering from a hangover. It wasn't anything too exciting. I went over to Deliahs last night to "take the piss" as the British would say. Luckily, some people I knew were there and I would up hanging out. Drank a couple of shots, a few beers, complained about my job (which I should quit doing cuz, eventually, people are gonna get sick of that shit). I stayed til closing and went over to Exit around the same time they began to play that shitty techno music.
I should explain: See there's this promotion called "Zombies Vs. Skeletons" which is pretty crappy-ass dancey, smancy, event. The promoters go around all these places: Exit, Cobra Lounge, Ultra Lounge, etc. It's always, ALWAYS, some shitty-ass DJ with a $1000 turntable kit, with all the latest bells and whistles that hide the fact that he can't blend worth a damn. So they setup the night, and have all the douche bag, Ed Hardy motherfuckers come up and act like total imbeciles; bumping into people, slurring their words in front of females, etc.
So, yeah, it's that kinda night. Thing is, at the time I came to Exit, they had this guy, I forgot his name, but he was the resident DJ. He was playing some 80s shit that was kinda decent. Mostly pop stuff, Michael Jackson, Prince, Iron Maiden, etc. But by 2:00, he left and the shit starting.
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM WAAA WAAA WAAA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WAAA WAAA.
The music the new guy was putting on sounded like a robot having a seizure.
WAAAA WAAA WAAA WAAAAAAAAAAAAA WAAA WAAA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA DEEEDOOO DEEDOO DEEDOOO DEEEDOOOO.
And I'm sitting here, like "What the Fuck is this". Oh, to top it off, on the tv screens above the bar, they were playing "Day of the Dead". NOT the George Romero one, but the remake. You know, where the good zombie was good because, I shit you not, he was a vegetarian when he was alive. Also, it starred that fuckwad Nick Cannon, whom I have a passionate hatred for. Needless to say, I bolted after an hour.
Now, I'm sitting here, typing this, watching "Firefly" on hulu. I might go out again tonight. Don't know where though.
So here's some music I've listening to lately:
This band has Eddy Grant ("Electric Avenue") in it.
Did I mention that these are teenagers? Yeah...these are played by teenagers. And whoever's playing bass is killing it!
