Hello all you fucks and ducks and mucks!
I'm going through some changes in my life. I know for the 2 of you that reads my shit on the regular, this isn't a surprise as I'm always in a constant state of change. However, this one of the big ones.
First off, I'm moving next week. Due to financial shit and that fact that I don't really feel at home. That what's weird about me: I never feel at home anywhere, even when I was living by myself. Just an alien trying to make a home in a foreign planet, but failing in a stupendous fashion.
I'm moving to Pilsen, on the Southside. It's one of those closet rooms that's reminiscent of the Elwood's crib in Blues Brothers. "It's not much, but it's home". I'm not sad or anything. In fact, I'm kinda excited because this is a new direction for me. Most of my friends are here, everything I need is in walking distance and the rent's cheap ($150). So I'm going to be all right.
Not to mention I went on two dates last weekend.
One was kinda impromptu. I texted her about me going to Wicker Park to look at some bookstores, she was like "cool", but when I texted her that I was in Wicker Park, she told to meet her at the Flat Iron at 8:30. Sweet. So I met her there, had a few PBRs and we talked to each other in a way that any ease-dropper would think we were sick in the head, or a little off. Then we walked over to her house and talked some more. That was pretty much it. Nothing happen beyond that, but I loved her company.
The next day I was on a different date. This time we went to Cobra Lounge for Reggae and Soul night, which is always awesome. Once again, we just talked. Not as eccentric as me and the other girl, but still interesting. Then we went to Bottom Lounge to see Armitage Shanks perform some straight up old school, drunk up and fuck up punk. Unfortunately, the evening ended with her getting a call from the Globe Pub telling her that one of the bartenders is sick and she has to take her place. BOOOOOOOOOOO! So after the band finished their song, I dropped her off at her place.
By those two date I realized, despite what I said above about myself, that I'm not as awkward as I thought. Maybe I'm a foundation of goodness or warmth that's waiting to be embraced by someone special.
I dunno.

Reggae and Soul night seems cool. Makes me think of dim lighting and sweet smells. I dunno.
Mm, two dates. Third one's a charm?
I'm used to moving, I've had years of practice
Have a housewarming party. Or, skip that, and let me mail you something nice, a housewarming gift like a nice candle set or something. Haha, I'm silly.
