Hey looks whose still alive and shit?
Actually, I've been pretty consistent with the updates, so yay for me.
First things first, I FINALLY was able to submit the Streetwise article to the editor last week. Whew! Huge fucking weight off my shoulders. Also, I got an article set for release in the magazine version of College News towards the end of August. It's nothing music-related. It's about the increased use of Etextbooks on college campuses.
I had another session with my therapist, and she theorized that I might be suffering from Dystymia, which is a low-grade but chronic depression. But she told me that medication will not be necessary and all I need to do is become more social and establish a support system of friends and family.
In other words: quit being such a fucking wallflower.
Which brings me to the Toastmasters.
I was able to find a club that was near the collegenews offices and it was pretty cool. Mostly, what they do is hone in their communication skills and help others get through their personal hurdles of speaking, like nervousness, shyness, etc.
The president of the club owns a bar down the street from they were at, so we went over there for beers. Also, I got to talk with this cute bartender about obscure music. It was awesome! So yeah, I'm going again, maybe even join if I can scrourge up the money.
Anyway, that's that. Questions? Comments?
