I bought a bike, today. 
Spent a lot of money, but I'm guessing it'll be worth it when you factor in the fact that I'll be using less fuel and getting more exercise. Plus, bikes are fun.
And, yes, I bought a dorky helmet. I don't want to go splat. Should be ready to pick up, tomorrow! Hooray!
Other excitingness - LittleFierceOne and I are flying to New Mexico to visit my parents and my doggie in a week! I'm so excited! Hooray!!!! I'll get to spend 6 days in the desert, away from stupid people and close to some really awesome critters. We'll miss the kitties, though, it'll be hard to leave them for a week...
But, I haven't seen my baby since we dropped him off last May, so it'll be worth it.

sweet! you saw the eclipse too. i saw it last night. through some trees but still awesome. i was in carrboro for my sis' baby shower, which was great and she's all stocked up now.
my dad works at nasa so for me i've been lucky enough to have him explaining mad science so i can understand. he works in education now, but he has a masters (almost a phd but he didn't finish his thesis junk) he makes rockin educational websites, but they're mostly about fluid dynamics (which includes aerodynamics). though with the whole "moon and mars" crusade he's been up to more astronomy lately.
but this bad astronomer guy looks sweet. i might send the link to my dad and see if he knows him or knows of him. good stuff!
awwww boarding the kitties is always rough. but it is true that's it's safer and less lonely for them. they'll get through it. it's only a week
and it's so great you two get to do some traveling for your spring break
ha ha yes. i'm always falling behinder and behinder. but to me i guess that's why i have the people i have on my friends list. i want to know what's going on with them and what they have to say and all that.
which is part of the reason it quite often takes me forever and year to get back to people. but i think in a way it's also why people leave me around even though i'm inconsistent. because they know i will be around when i can, and i will actually listen and comment back. everyone has their own style and this is mine. and even if makes me little miss behinder i think it's a blast and i'll keep doing it.
