Just moved a couple rooms of my house around. I hated having to walk through the blessed thing every night just to get to the bathroom. Now my bedroom and my office have switched spaces. The only problem is now my bedroom is what was my grandmother's, the room she died in. So far I've got no vibes but it's a little unsettling. But now I'm right next to the indoor outhouse and I've even got a TV to fall asleep watching in there now (it was a problem with running cables). All I need is super thick curtains to block out the rising sun.
But my office doesn't feel right in the front room of the house (front room, the other reason I wanted the rooms switched). Perhaps it's the bare white walls. I've yet to move around the artwork and accolades I had hanging on the walls (my bed is offcenter in the room and the offcenter painting above it is offcenter). Moved an antique wardrobe into the office and it still has no character (and it has fucking mirrors, I hate mirrors). That's my project today, fix up the office. OR... maybe I'll forget that and try to finish the second quest of "The Legend of Zelda (found a NES emulator for Mac!!!) Played through the first quest and now trying to get through the underworlds of the second. It's way fucking harder than I remember (fucking wizrobes and peehats!!!!!!!!)
I want a MacBook Pro. My iBook just blew it's ComboDrive and though I never used it, I want an upgrade to Professional anyways. BUT, I thought it would be cool to wait until Apple releases iLife '07 and Leopard, then getting a MBP and getting those apps and OS for free! Besides, it's not like I can afford a new Mac right now however much I want it.
The field between my and my father's houses still has the brush he collected when he cut down that diseased oak last spring in a neat pile waiting to be burned. I'd love to do it for Halloween but I'm afraid to invite family to join me and the hotdogs and marshmallows and storytelling and the passing of the guitar... no one would come and that would make me very sad. Maybe I'll just buy a bottle of bourbon and burn it myself.
Wanna get into my studio and do some work but still can't find the motivation. I may just frame some old stuff and pretty up my office. My brother came up after my father had his accident and wanted the extra optical drive out of my father's computer. I didn't want to give it but I realized he had a harddrive I wanted back so I traded my father's CD-RW for my harddrive back. When I took it out of his computer I fucked up the ribbon cable. Fucking Windows kept having a problem reading the other drive and he asked me to fix it. I fixed it, but I did so in my studio, sneaking it out of his house to mine. Just to fuck with him I've changed the OS theme, the colors, his desktop and his screensaver. Can you believe he hasn't noticed the CD drive is missing?! It's beige while the rest of the Dell is bluish gray!! I wonder if he'll notice the changes. I'm betting he'll notice the Blair Witch PC game I installed on it. He did the last time. Told me to use his PC whenever I wanted and then deleted all the stuff I had installed on it. Fucking Asshole. Oh, and his ex wife (not my mother) now has something to do with him since he's suing the guy that hit him and totalled his truck and broke his leg. God, I and the whole rest of the family hate that bitch (he's talked about selling the land he promised his dying mother he'd give to my brother and me for no other reason than to let us know he's in charge). She is also the beneficiary of his life insurance, not us his children. Money, man. Money changes everything.
Oh, and I finally got the heat working in my house. The furnace still seems blown but the little gas heater is a hot little bitch. I thought it was beyond repair (especially after I kicked it in frustration) but all it took was fucking blowing out the pilot mechanism with a goddam drinking straw. Dammit. The extremeties are heated up with an electric space heater. 44 outside and I'm rather toasty in here. I'm taking pleasure in the simple things today.
