A few concerns...
I woke up this afternoon (I work the late shift, shut up) and clicked my pink little SG widget. What appeared in Safari was not the big pink SG. I thought it was broken until I realized, this isn't an RSS flub up, it's a new look. Personally at this moment, I say for it will probably grow on me, I'm not too keen on the redesign. The site with it's new orientation looks like those "other" porn sites of questionable style and demeanor. That was one thing that I always liked about SG, it didn't look like the others and in so distanced itself from just a nude/porn/fuck site. My first impressions could be wrong but I think the old way, with nips and tucks here and there, was better.
That said, there are many new great features or feature that are only now apparent to me (hey, I could get to the Mac User group, that and the girls were all that was important). However, with these great new things have confused the hell out of me. And for the moment I don't care for the way the new sets are arranged in their own window. Why are the pics all out of order in the gallery? I like the idea that a girl starts out clothed and slowly strips through the whole set, not she's naked, clothed, partially exposed, clothed, naked, partial, clothed, in pantied, nude. Sets were supposed to tell a story yet the new way the sets are arranged the story is completely ruined. Now, seeing Aspen in any way is intoxicating but how much better would Guitar Hero have been if we were allowed to follow the continuing thought of the set?
I sued to right-click the SG icon in the upper left to open the homepage in a new window but now it only tells me about Flash 8. Granted, I like the peeling effect but notice there's not a home button to be able to right click and open in a new window. This is probably splitting hairs but I don't like losing functionality.
Not all parts of the site have been updated... I was thinking maybe that maybe we could have the choice to keep the old style or adopt the new in our journal pages. Yeah, like that'd happen
SG used to be the only site that loaded superfast though it was laden with many blips and bobs. With the redesign it is now one of the slowest to load. A new facelift is not worth loss of functionality.
My URL is very long and used to be truncated to fit into the column on the left... now it shoots straight out into the main part of my journal... I hope that will be fixed.
There are many more things I haven't touched on, haven't noticed yet, will lament in the future, but this is me this day and time. As the new things grow on me and I shuck off the trappings of old, I'll accordingly post retractions.
Many kudos to the designers for their hardwork on the redesign. I commend the work, it's awesome; I hope it will grow on me like a fungi... except in a good way.
