It's 2:00 and I just spent awhile driving around alone with no particular destination. There's not a sight more beautiful than being in your car at night and when you look in both directions you don't see a single car. Only the qutomatic switching on and off of traffic lights. I could have rolled to a stop, gotten out of my car and sat in the middle of federal and nobody would have been around to notice.I love the city in spite of the sickly incandesant lights drowning out the stars. I must have driven past a hundred thousand people tonight and I don't know a single one of their names. It was odd pasing the franchise coffee shops all closed up, with their inspirational sayings falling deaf in the cool night air. It is somehow comforting to be alone.
after_thought:
Couldnt agree more about driving alone. I live by an airport and its pitch black by it except for the lights on the run ways. I love to park over there, esp after a long nyte out
