HOLY MOTHER OF FUCK!!! PASS THE CIGARS AROUND -- I AM AN UNCLE FOR THE THIRD TIME!!! My sister Jenny, my older sister whos a producer of documentaries in LA (she worked on the Warhol movie and for the guy who does the cheesey ass Oscar films), she just gave birth to my new nephew JAKE hes 8 pounds, 6 ounces.
It was really scary earlier today as Jenny is diabetic and developed hypertension which apparently feels like food poisoning and its not good were talking "serious complications" leading to emergency C-section here, so I was real nervous all day but found out like an hour ago and I am fucking PSYCHED that the baby and my sis appear to be fine!!! Welcome to this world, JAKE! (Make it a better place, please. Im too busy to) Seriously, I am just fucking ecstatic and so relieved.
Earlier this day, my amazing 4 year old nephew Elliott who lives in Seattle, he wound up taking a trip to the ER in an ambulance, himself! He was climbing up onto a table at preschool and fell, hit his chin, blood everywhere, the people there called an ambulance. I went by after work to see him just after he got back from the hospital 4 stitches in his chin and he's good to go -- we played with the Pokemon Monopoly I got him. He is too young for it of course, but he had great names he came up with for the little Poke-characters, and then made a crazy, snaking sidewalk using the white one dollar bills for the characters to walk on. I ADORE this kid, and am so glad hes alright too.
This makes me the bachelor uncle, the guy with three siblings who each have one kid! Thats kinda weird.
Meanwhile, my Seattle pal K is in San Diego now with her mom trying to hunt down her bro. who's been threatening to kill himself and has disappeared, saying he's gonna go to Mexico -- Krikey. I will think good thoughts for them -- so hard to help people who don't want the help, though...
Deeeeeeep sigh of relief. Im gonna go collapse now

congratulations! i've yet to be an aunt. even my extended family (cousins) haven't had any children. i am one of the youngest, and there are a lot of us. i think we all believe in the general idea that we want to wait to have children later in life. oooh, actually, my younger cousin is pregnant- i almost forgot! that will be interesting.
anyway, i hope your friend's brother is found and things end up ok. i really hope it is just a cry for help.
