Went to the grocery store today. As expected turkey was on sale, so I bought a 20 pound turkey for only 10 bucks. Spent the day cooking what is essentially a second Thanksgiving (turkey, stuffing, mashed potatos, and veggies). I discovered that 20 pounds is a fucking LOT of turkey. The good news is it turns out to be the tastiest turkey I've ever tasted. No lie, it came out that good. Bad news is there is so much turkey I doubt I can eat it before it turns disgusting. Worse news is I shouldn't have access to yummy leftovers in that kinda quantity anyways. While I doubt I'm going to be gaining a lot of weight from this (it IS mostly lean turkey and veggies, and I used almost no butter in the stuffing or mashed potatoes), I'm certainly not going to be losing any weight this week either. Luckily, I don't have much trouble resisting the temptations of holiday treats so I should get through Christmas unscathed.
