My new puppy is awesome I named her Dixie Lee, partly after an actress and singer of the same name from the 30s and 40s, who also happened to be Bing Crosby's wife and partly because of where I live. The actress Dixie Lee sadly died of Ovarian Cancer just days before her 41st birthday. She had a budding career as an actress ahead but had troubles due to her shyness.

This is my Dixie Lee, she is a Cocolate Lab. She was a little sick when I rescued her at the Humane Society because she had worms, BAD, but I had her treated and she is doing much better. She is very active now and very playful. She loves to play ball and also loves to chew on my daughter's dumb cat. She is now 11 weeks old, keeps me up late, wakes me up early to go potty, chews on me when she can and really is one of the things my heart has been missing. It has been 2 1/2 years since my last Chocolate Lab was killed on Dec 31st 2006 by presumably some drunk driver. I had her for 6 years and took her loss very hard.. It has taken me a while to decide to get another dog because of that..





But Dixie is now filling that void very nicely!!
