'To those who use Atheist as a dirty word'
I hope no one gets me wrong.
I hope no one thinks I loathe the light
(or - that I know all that's right).
Far from the truth, I claim only my love to be strong,
and I'm amazed and justified every time I hear
of some ful-of-wonder person completing
an act of able-love - human compassion,
and I'm unhinged and mortified every time I hear
of some ful-of-passion person creating
an act of able-unreason - human destruction.

*grr.. I couldn't get the formatting/spacing down right. lines 3, 6,7,9 and 10 are supposed to be indented... anyway, this is basically a copy and paste from my myspace blog anyway *
When I was a kid, and well into my teens, I saw Atheism as being Godless, and therefore, absent of any kind of goodness.
Now I realize I was brainwashed into thinking that, and I am glad I never wrote anyone completely off because they didn't buy into the same thing I was raised on.
But still this prejudice remains in other people...and that is unfortunate.
I'm tired of hearing people say they are better than a stranger, solely based on their beliefs (or lack of)...
...As Brad just posted in his recent blog, a person's Actions are what's important...
....Anyway, I am not trying to tell anyone to stop believing in a higher power. You can believe whatever the hell you want, AS LONG as you don't endanger the life or liberity of myself, my family, my friends..and any good person trying to live a positive life.
alright.. I'm off to sacrifice a goat and drink their blood
take care out there,
