Molly Ringwalds Red Hair and Staying busy.
Well it's finally official, I am leaving June 1 and flying to Vancouver to join the Sapphire Princess for 6 months as the Production Manager 1 which is freaking awesome. I finally got the job I had wanted all along with them after they jerked me around for so long. Anyways I requested if I could join the Sapphire specifically because it's going to Asia and I've always wanted to go there. Well they said sure but now I have to wait two months until the rotation comes around and the opening there is available. So to pass the time and more specifically to make some much needed cash, I took a job with the local Performing Arts theater, the Peace Center, here in Greenville as an audio assistant. It's nice and it pays well, I just wish I could work more. As it is now, I pretty only work when a show comes into town and set up the audio elements and then when the show is done we break it down again. The Broadway show Sweet Charity is in town this week so the past two days I've been up there helping set up their audio equipment. It wasn't to bad of a load in which is good. The show stars Molly Ringwald which is super cool. Molly Ringwald is of course the girl from Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink and Breakfast Club. She has done a lot more but those are the roles she is known for. Right before the opening last night, we were getting ready for sound check and I was passing out the mics to the cast, the whole time I was there I didn't see Molly once but then Lo and Behold she strolled right up to me and asked for her mic. Well in Broadway type shows the lead characters a lot of times will wear two mics just in case one craps out they will have a spare ready to go. Well Molly wears her spare in her hair so she asked me if I would help her place it in her hair. We chatted a little bit and just stood around on the stage until it was time for her to sing. She is really nice and of course quite pretty. My brother asked me if I would get her autograph but because of what I do, I've worked with all kinds of singers and dancers and they are just people like you and me. So no I did not get her autograph but I did get to play with her red hair.
