Well holy crap, look an update.
Things have been going well enough I suppose. I am working now finally which is good. I work at the Michelin North American headquaters in their little company store. It's a cake job and I get paid well for my time. I am the only employee for a store that only the Michlein employees can shop at. I basicly sit around all day playing on the internet and reading. (Speaking of reading, I am reading the Princess Bride right now and it's quite good. If there is anyone out there that is a fan of the film you should read the book. The film is obviously diffrent but the basics are pretty much the same.) I am also working for a talk radio station on the weekends doing the noon to 5 shift. It's alright but again not very challenging. The particular station is a typical "southern right wing" station with it's king and queen being Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly ( I shudder to think which is the king and which is the queen) THANKFULLY my shift only consists of computer help shows and money advice shows. My third job at the moment is with a company called Mad Science. I travel around to schools and teach after school kids about science doing "fun experiments". I put that in quotes because that is what it's supposed to be, "fun" but the experiments actully are quite dull so I am not very happy wth that at the moment.
I am so annoyed with my life at the moment because I am stuck here in Greenville for the time being going nowhere. I mean I do have a plan but it just feels so far away at the moment. I have a meeting on March 6 about possibly getting into teaching music so I hope that goes well. A friend of mine in San Francisco told me he just got a job as a Pro Tools Lab instructor out there and is being well taken care of and I should come out. I would LOVE to go out there but at the moment there is no possible way. My student loan payments are horrifying so basicly all I do is save save save. Why is it that getting an education is rammed down your throat as you are growing up but then when you go and get that degree afterwards you are left out to dry when it comes to the monster that is the loan repayments, espesically if you choose a degree in something "non-traditional" such as audio engineering.
I am REALLY thinking about going back to doing the crusie ships. It's not so much that I miss it but it was a secure job and I knew exactly what I was doing for the entire time I was there. I mean there are certain aspects I miss such as the travel and all the great friends I meet from all around the world. I know I DO NOT want to work for the Carnival Corp again and that is hard to do now because they own almost all the cruise lines. I am looking into Crystal Cruises right now because I heard that they pay really well and their iteneraries are amazing. They basicly never stop circling the globe so I would get to actually see some of the nicest places I have always wanted to see instead of seeing one or two of them OVER and OVER like Alaska. If you have never been to Alaska I honestly think everyone should go and see it, it's amazing, BUT those giant blocks of ice have been there for thousands of years and they look exactly the same the 100th time you see it as it did the first so see it once and then go find something else. Hawaii was absolutly amazing, I loved it there and I really hope to go back sometime. The caribbean has become such a horrible place because of all the explotation going on. It's so bad in some places that it makes you feel sick just getting off the ship. These giant rich corparations come in and take over these cities and bring in all these tourists but outside the walls of these lush resorts are some of the most disgusting ghettos in the world. Jamaica was by far the worse. Mexico was fun but CRAZY hot. The west coast of Mexico is so beautiful but also quite poor. I have always wanted to go to Australia, ever since I was little. I really want to see Japan and all of Asia for that matter. Brazil would be another choice as well and Egypt.
Well this ends my rant I suppose. I honestly think this is the longest post I have ever put up here! Anyways, I'm off.
