My brain has been on high since first bells this morning.
I woke up mid-concept.
Revisiting my FIDE* concept(Fully Immersive Desktop Environment)
Adding concepts for e-books.
-basicly having a prop book with about 200 pages that can have an e-books images overlayed on the pages to give you the ability to read an e-book with a haptic interface and no need for one use technology like amazons Kindle.
Labeling and decorative Overlay on reality
-the ability to change your rooms environment, such as make the walls different colors, or appear like a forest or space or something.
I found a good pdf article about this type of technology, which has been termed "Interactive Mediated Reality". If any of this sounds nifty to you, you might enjoy it. Article
I started learning Javascript last night with the intent of making a widget for Y!Widget Engine, but I think I'll consider learning something else so I can try and make this concept a reality. At least a proof of concept.
Sweet, there's already a Altered Reality project going on, with free software tools and a list of projects already implemented. Can't wait to get home and fuck with this.
If anyone had a spare pare of VR-goggles and a netbook they were willing to part with for cheap....

The overlay idea for rooms/houses and whatnot seems really cool. It would be awesome to be able to change your setting to whatever you wanted...Like being able to have an amazing view of the beach or something, even if you live in the middle of a crowded city.
