So its New Years day everyone and true to form nothing has changed, but thats not a bad thing. So lets have a look back and see what happened in 2013.....2013 RECAP!!!
In January I finished my apprenticeship, got my diploma and became a qualified dental technician which came with a lovely substantial pay rise.
February 12th I turned 21 and had a nice big bash at my mothers house.
In July I bought a house! It's something I've been saving for, for years and to finally own a house is amazing and freeing.
In August I moved into my house which was surprisingly easy considering how much stuff I own, having a party at your own place is fun too. I also found out how expensive it is to own a house which isn't super mega fun but its part and parcel of the experience.
In October I had my first Muay Thai fight in Lilydale in Melbourne, I lost but god it was fun and being in the ring, fighting in front of hundreds of people is amazing and is such an adrenaline rush. a massive thanks to my family, Mel and Brian for coming and supporting me.
December I had my second Muay Thai fight in Ballarat. You're supposed to be at the fights about an hour before your match so you can get a rub down and warm up and sort everything out, the fights started at 6:30pm, I got there at 6:35pm and was in the ring fighting by 6:45pm which isn't ideal but it worked out. I lost on a points decision but it was a brutal fight and 100 times better than my first, I fought 5kgs lighter which probably helped as well. If I had another round I think I would've knocked out my opponent plus its tough fighting an opponent with the home field/team advantage. I think i'm hooked on fighting which is awesome, it gives my something to focus on and I get paid for it too which always helps.
Also in December I had one of my best friends Brian/@bizzaro83 move in with me and my girlfriend. i'm sure we drive each other crazy sometimes but god I love him and its fucking great having him around all the time, he is a wealth of knowledge and is probably the most giving and trustworthy person I know.
I celebrated my 1 year anniversary with my girlfriend on December 9th which was cool and her birthday on December 20th, everyone took her out for dinner then we all came back and had drinks at the house.
Christmas at the Jones house was fun, we had all our friends come over a few days before and exchange presents, I got a $50 PSN card and a full colour Scott Pilgrim vs. The World graphic novel (I cant wait to complete my collection) and Brian got me a KCCO Chive shirt which i've wanted for years and i don't know how he got it or how he got the millions it must have cost him but I love it so much. Then on Christmas Day I got some new watercolour pencils and some new Copic Sketch markers! So i'll have to start drawing more often and experimenting with colour. Around Lunch time on Xmas day Melissa and I left for Tuncurry which is up past Sydney, god it was a long boring drive but it was nice and relaxing for the few days we were there.
I also got a puppy sometime in 2013 which is awesome, he's a Jack Russel x Border Collie, he's so tiny and his name is Thor, Dog of Thunder which is hilarious to hear the vets say that when we have to take him in for injections and checkups. He makes my life so much better, whenever i come home he's always there waiting to play or come and fall asleep on the couch with me if i've had a long day.
2013 has been amazing now that i've actually sat down and thought about it and i'm sure 2014 is going to be just as good if not better.
