Hmmm first blog.....
i really dont know what to write in these things, i spose thats because i dont see my life as incredibly interesting. i mean who wants to here about my day at work or how i went down the street to buy some new shirts? then i realised i read the same stuff on everyones blogs so i guess we all want to hear that mundane crap.
so here it goes.
ive just spent 2 weeks living and working in Melbourne at the dental hospital as part of my Diploma, for the last 2 years whenever i go up there i stay with Mikey and Andy who are both from Canberra. i love melbourne, simple as that, theres people everywhere theres gorgeous girls everywhere and theres so much to do! the first day i was there was my birthday (12th Feb) yay thats means im finally 20 not that it makes much difference haha, we went to the St Kilda festival which was sick. they had a heap of Triple J bands like British India and Alpine playing so it was amazing to see them and it was even better to top the night off with seeing Miami Horror live! they were incredible and definitely one of the better live DJ sets ive seen (shame they didnt have the whole live band there though). throughout the 2 weeks i went to uni and met a heap of new people who live kinda close which is always good and managed to score a ticket to Groovin the Moo which im excited about, i mean who doesnt wanna see Public Enemy live!!! FLAVOR FLAV!
On wednesday nights they have the Night Markets which is almost like a little cultural festival, theres so much food and people dancing and heaps of useless crap to buy, cheap Sangrias means i was a cheap drunk and i ended up going out afterwards with a few girls from one of the other classes which was awesome.
Let me make one thing clear, my weekends in Melbourne are the BEST! Friday night we went to some Cider bar and headed out to The Croft Institute which is a little club hidden down 2 alleyways and up 4 flights of stairs, its pretty good its got a chilled out vibe and they play music you dont hear in alot of clubs. Mikey felt sick after about half an hour of being there so we left and he decided to lay low for the night and sleep, that left Andy and i to find something to do with out time, i mean the night was young! it was only 12:30am! we wandered for a bit then decided the strippers was probably the best place for our drunken bodies and open wallets. Bar 20, Showgirls is one of the nicer less seedy places on King st and we were quickly accosted by half naked women saying how cute we were and how much they wanted to have a dance with us, of course we were completely shitfaced so we assumed they had to be telling the truth haha. i immediately fell head over heels with a British girl who had recently moved to Australia, we spent most of the time chatting about random stuff while she danced. After another 8 Vodka Limes each we both thought it was time to stagger home, in the morning, other than feeling incredibly hungover we both had a weight in the pit of our stomachs as we realised we'd spent over $500 each at the strippers which was probably not the best idea. so we did the only thing we knew how to do to get over it, we started drinking again.....
Saturday night we went out to our old faithful Eurotrash, check em out on facebook, Mikey met an absolutely beautiful girl and Andy was meatballed (drunk) as usual and i met a girl with blonde hair who was i little too drunk and wanted to come home so i did the only responsible thing i could think of, i borrowed her phone, called her friends who were still in the club and got them to come take care of her. good deed done for the night, check. the rest of my time in Melbourne was pretty straight forward, dinner at restaurants and working at the hospital and hen it finally came time to leave, we all said good bye even though we'd be back in May and we went our separate ways.
now im back in Shepparton and theres been no sunshine and its been pouring down with rain for the last 3 days, people are flooded in and theres bloody water everywhere! but at least i only had to work at the clinic on monday, tuesday and wednesday and ive got a 4 day weekend because my boss is in Hong Kong, and so currently im using my day off to become more involved in Suicide Girls by writing this very blog that your reading! anyway i think thats probably enough for one day
also ill be posting a few photos of my melbourne adventures so check em out in my pics!
so thanks everyone and a big thanks to Brian who got me on here! ill try to keep posting stuff regularly and keep everyone updated.
