a week to corral all the ideas and equipment together..i just have to get past north dakota, then everything will be interesting..but man that drive across nodak is fuckin warped..bleak flat and desolate wasteland..i guess its almost pretty, untill youve visited cities like dickenson and bismarck..i wonder what those people do out there..there arent even any trees, just rolling open ranges for miles and miles..at last we come to teddy roosevelt national park, which is much like the badlands..here i always like to drive down some lonely road and shoot my pistol at some cans or something..and i always run into some peeps at those restops who are on their way west for some riding as well and want to smoke a joint or something.."thanks for the spliff, have a good drive"..i recall a trip to montana several years back, one of the rest stops on top of a hill, there was this daredevil cropduster pilot..he was getting dangerously low and all waving at me, showing off, flying upside down and making crazy turns..it was right around sunset and i remember all the wonder and freedom i felt heading west, into the golden dip of the day..god, it would be great to have a little airplane like that..id paint teeth an stripes on it, buzz all around twistin and stuntmannin..and id always fly west..west most certainly is the best..the landscape gets more dramatic the more you go and so does the mexican food..in fact, there in cody, wyoming is a little mexican diner called "the frustrated cowboy" and it really just begins here..its all hot sauce and steaming enchiladas from there on out..fuck, i cant wait..i even have a box of a dozen or so hot sauces that i never go anywhere without..and my pal keith, who i always seem to be on the road with..we built this rad custom van a couple of years ago..its a '74 ford and it guzzles..but it has bunks and a sink and heat and its insulated and even stereo surround sound built into that bitch..it looks like a peice of crap from the outside, but you get in and its a fuckin work of art. all painted and silver siding..a proud road power, it broke down in every town in montana on the way back from seattle two years ago, but it was worth it drinkin whiskey with the local cowboys..they even let us shoot their guns in the parking lot one nite..i asked one of em if the cops would come and he grinned and said, "i am the cop in this town!" ahhh montana..unrivaled in its preservation of the wild west..but ill go no further than bozeman, and since i used to live in bozeman, ill be partying there for a couple of days and riding bridger bowl..and its such a fun town. college kids, riders, skiers, climbers and cowboys..and all the bars are a total riot..when im soaked in bozeman..off to big sky, then jackson hole, then park city utah, then lake tahoe..what a great trip..i cant wait to take pics and post em and tell stories..for now, its collaboratin and packin an all that..damn ive been writing too long..tell me to shut up, please..
