Time for the next segment of "Ask Rachelle" in which I answer the question: when and where were you born?
*Side note - I am working on posting more regularly, I promise.*
I was born on July 23rd in the early 90s in a hospital in Burnaby that is no longer there. For those of you who don't know where Burnaby is, it is located in beautiful British Columbia. (Such a better slogan than our new one.. Super. Natural. British Columbia. Blah) Yes, that makes me Canadian. True fact, eh.
I was born in the morning, around 8:30AM I have been told. I was 10 days late, which coincidentally enough would have been my fathers birthday. But no, I waited until the 23rd. Being born on the 13th would be tricky, every so often your birthday would fall on a Friday and that would be so unlucky. (ha) Plus, I am weirdly obsessed with my birthday, so sharing obviously wasn't an option to unborn me. So instead I made my poor mother wait an extra week and a half until I decided to make my entrance. And I say decided because from the sounds of the story, it WAS my decision.
I won't get to into it, but according to my mother I was an "interesting" birth. I was so active in the womb that I wrapped myself in my umbilical cord and the doctors were worried I wasn't getting any oxygen. Forgive me for dancing, or running, or just being a brat, I can't help it. Anyways, they wanted my mother to have a C-section and she said no and decided to do it the natural way instead, so all the doctors and nurses had to come into to the room and then they tried to stop her (yes, they literally tried to STOP birth. Think about how they would have had to do that... WHAT.) but at that point I had an audience and I couldn't disappoint so I made my grand entrance. RACHELLE ENTERS CENTER STAGE. END SCENE.
Aaannnddd that is more than any of you probably cared to know, but I did say I would be going into detail, and it is an interesting story. And it does play into my zodiac sign... if you can guess it by now.
Even baby Rachelle was dramatic....
