lost completely... more like stolen... i put it in pocket 15 minutes before i boarded at o'hare... then i got on the plane and i put my hand in my pocket to make sure it was turned off and its gone... the stupid flight attendant was like, "oh, if you had only told me 5 minutes ago... we just closed the doors"... so as soon as the seat belt light was off, i was on all fours and crawling around looking under seats. needless to say i think its a lost cause. b.a.s.t.a.r.d.s. i'm so sad, i w-a-s saving my money up for a new digital camera...

So I'm back in SF and basically, for all those who have been following the plight that is gaining admission to a top tier grad school in psych I have 5 little words for you...

I'm.....in....there.....like.....swimwear!

Yep, it's officially as it can be, without my signature on the financial aid piece of paper yet, that I'm going to be relocating to Madsion for the next...

dammit, it takes me so long to respond to journal comments sometimes that i have to quote people! i'm sorry!

Unfortunately, Thailand and I have had a love-hate relationship due to issues that I could elaborate if requested
actually i would be very interested to know, if you felt like talking about it.

although I would probably be embarrassed for my Americanized Thai accent.
really? but do you speak thai very well?

It's been far to long. How did you not get eaten by the mosquitos?
well.. the answer to that is.. i did! haha. just my legs. because it was too hot to wear pants. smile

that papaya salad is called Som Thumb...
i would like to try making it but i bet the papayas i'd get here just wouldn't be the same... doesn't it use unripe ones?
like with mangoes... mangoes here are sucky. they never taste like they should.
squire:
Hey! Yer set, then. Good for you. I think you'll like Madison.

Did ya get a Molly Ringwold at the Tornado? Something about that place that I really like . . . . Its sort of part hipster joint, part family restaurant. A good combination?

The papaya salad at the thai joint I call home makes a mean papaya salad. And I swear its the hottest thing on the menu!! One doesn't expect that when getting a salad, let alone a papaya salad . . . .

I am officially in the great state of Wisconsin. Today is the first of a two day "get to know the school" process at UW-Madison. Many thanks to all that have given me advice Orali, take42, and esquire27.

Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you see it, I'm staying with a friend's parents and they have taken it upon themselves to play...

Whoa. I thought you were gonna be in Madison in July!! Why did I get that impression? Wierd . . . . And I would have replied to your emails sooner had I known that. Oh well.

Hope the trip is going well. Yeah, its a little chillier than usual right now. But soon it'll be outstanding. I wish I could come up and show you around. But no chance. I've got a lot of work to do. I'm sure you are in good hands. Just be sure to get out and raise some hell!!

Ahoy-hoy...

Last night was great! I saw The Get Up Kids Show, which of course rocked! Man, I swear to god, that little powerhouse Matt Pryor can fucking sing and move. He's just so tiny and thick, you just want to wrap your whole body around him. They played almost every song I could have hoped for (except Fall Semester frown )... They played Woodson, Off...

Radical Rye went out of buisness on Saturday b/c of the Opera house they're building. But I always eat at Amy's Cafe and drink at Cafe Montemarte. Suko Thai kicks ass too. The place to smoke hookas is The Casbah (they have good food and specialty drinks too). Cafe Espresso or Electric Earth have the best coffee.

Oh yeah, The Casbah. And Suko is good. Looks like you'll have plenty of advice re good places to check out!

Hello kitties...

I've recently returned from Charm City, I've been at a psychology conference for the study of adolescence. Very exciting stuff! I'm a nerd because I was excited to meet the big names in the field and basically listen to lectures all day. Sometimes its embarassing to admit that I'm interested in the psychological study of adolescence, where we make inferences and insights into...

It's so beautiful in San Francisco today. The sun is shining, but the air is still crisp -- its the type of weather that always fools tourists into thinking "Hey, I don't need a jacket today" and then they go downtown, walk between the buildings and simultaneously get blown away and freeze at the same time. I love it.

Hey Bees!!!!!!!!
How are ya? I hope well.......

I FINALLY got your CD in the mail, so you should get it any day now.......enjoy!

Today I went to dinner with AntiPrincess, phessler and his kid sister. She's 9 and a prize... we were talking about Boy Meets Boy, a gay dating show similar to The Bachelor, etc., and I said that too bad the show wasn't shot in San Francisco because then it could end like all other wack dating shows and there could be a marriage. And...

i remember being a kooky kid (*cough* sophmore in college *cough*) and still thinking saying something was "gay" was somehow acceptable. didn't really do it myself - but wasn't offended by it. so there ya go, ya schooled her early - helping her avoid later embarrassment in life.

nice work!

Hey all... sorry for anyone who ever reads my journal, nothing exciting going on. I'm just silently stressing about acceptance into grad school, namely the lack of. I'm exploring my options and the job market sucks... anyone been in peace CORPS? How was that experience?
signalnoise:
just thought i'd pop by, check out a bit more of what this anticipating-grad-school-type was all about ....

unfortunately, i don't know much about peace corps. but the university i used to go to did a joint master's degree/peace corps program.... i'm woefully uneducated about things about my narrow zone of experience..
