Hello kitties...

I've recently returned from Charm City, I've been at a psychology conference for the study of adolescence. Very exciting stuff! I'm a nerd because I was excited to meet the big names in the field and basically listen to lectures all day. Sometimes its embarassing to admit that I'm interested in the psychological study of adolescence, where we make inferences and insights into the way adolescents think and behave based on make-believe... because that's what the statistics that legitimize psychology as a "science" are... make-believe, numbers that supposedly represent the degree to which a kid endorses a value or belief. Why aren't we just all out there trying to implement interventions that we already know that actually work? Arg. But I guess someone has to keep digging deeper in order to further our knowledge. Can you sense my disenchantment with the field of psychology? What am I saying... this is what I love.... I am definitely a nerd.
