I eat my poetry
like I drink my words
slowly though as not to burn
my throat that's dry
from anticipation
but the scalding only makes it worse
you take my change
and we exchange glances
I'm humbled by your eyes
they burn through me
like boiling water
thick-rimmed glasses understate your smile
too good to be true
too bad you're so perfect
I want to say something
but I doubt you'll notice
just wrote this last week, it's not entirely finished, but I wrote a cool riff to it, so I figured I put the lyrics online for comments.
