Wow, it's been MUCH too long since I last updated. This weekend has been absolutely psychotic....well, not really, but I've been pretty fucking busy, which makes it seem psychotic.
Friday night I booked a show for my absolute favorite band, the one and only Methadones. I also booked Punch Drunk to open, so I'm extremely excited....even though I'm not sure if I can go since it's on a Thursday, and I usually have to prepare for Fridays since I go out with friends...I'm an old man. Not really, haha, but I've got to sleep sometime, right?
Today was amazing, I woke up at maybe 12:00 pm eastern, hobbled downstairs and had a gigantic bowl of Smacks and found out that there was a Flinstones marathon on TV, so of course, indulging my inner-child (I can't fucking believe I just said that, haha) I watched about an hour and a half of it. My friend Sean then came over and we hung out, listened to music, and played on my new snare drum. I then got changed and we walked out the door to keep up the tradition he and I have kept up concert after concert.
We went to the same Taco Bell we always go to, and got the same thing we usually do, sat at the same table, and ate REALLY quickly, while we made fun of rednecks and this one metal band we saw at a Valient Thorr show called The Pygmies. They were fucking awesome, but it was so redneck that it was only good for that one night.
After Taco Bell I went and got a camera and we went to Kings. Things were cool as normal, there weren't any SGNCers there
, but my friend Jeff who puts together most of the Sunday Matinee shows was there, and we exchanged posters for next week's Jupiter Sunrise show. I'm really excited about that, since they kick major ass.
Valient Thorr was fucking amazing, it was one of their best shows, even though it was their shortest, and they didn't play Time Zone AGAIN!! And of course the SGNCers didn't show up, which was saddening, but it was alright, since a lot of people danced, and I rocked out with the lead singer and bassist of one of the opening bands.
I just feel so tired and disconnected these days, I need to find a girlfriend or a new hobby or something to get my mind off of all the daunting tasks that I have ahead of me.....
As the days get longer and the nights slowly become shorter, when will I spring forward?......because it feels like I'm just falling backwards.
Oh, and I also met another girl that was 25 (other than EvilLyn) that referred to herself as "a grandma"....to which I replied with a hearty laugh, that made my night.
