Tonight was truly awesome. First off I went to have dinner at the same place that me and my friend always go to before a show at Kings, and sat in the same table, and this time, the fan wasn't blowing at us, so we actually kept all of our food on the table. From this, I could tell the rest of the night was going to kick ass.
We arrived at Kings early, an hour early to be exact, and occupied ourselves with a game of nudie photo hunt and Sean played Asteroids, while I tried to figure out how the missles the ship shot were so bright.
After our boredom, we talked with the lead singer, the bassist, and lead guitarist of Valient Thorr for about a half hour about random stuff, including tour booking. I doubt I got very far in convincing them to do business with me, but either way, it's all good, as long as they're doing shows in Raleigh every month I'll be content.
Once the guys from Valient Thorr left to go change or do whatever it is they do before shows, my two other friends showed up and we hung out a little bit. One of my friends bought a kickass leather jacket, and it looked really awesome, so I congratulated her on being the first vegetarian I know that has bought a leather jacket, haha.
Once the show started I watched Roxotica, who were pretty good, my friend didn't like them, but I thought they were cool, even though they kept dropping out of british accent into their normal american accents, which was slightly amusing at times and soon enough became tiresome, but I thought they kicked ass. Nice girls they were (oy, now I'm talking like yoda.)
After Roxotica I was looking around for either of the two people from SG I was supposed to meet tonight, CuriouslyMe and Nicci. I eventually found Nicci (who by the way is much more beautiful than I thought she'd be), and she introduced me to Thedestroyer, who I found out lives pretty damn close to me, so maybe us three will hang out sometime. Nicci then introduced me to her other guyfriends and incredibly attractive girlfriends (I think there were two, but I can't remember honestly, I rocked WAY too hard). After playing a small game of hanging out with my group of friends and her group of friends, I eventually prepared myself for the one and only Valient Thorr.
This was their best concert ever. I rocked so fuckin hard that I think I might've torn a little bit of my back out, which is alright, considering that hopefully I can just take a shitload of ibuprofen to dull the pain. I danced with my friend Delia, I finally knew most of the words (since I got the cd a month ago), and they did the Don't Stop thing, where everybody gets on the floor. It was an incredibly long set which was amazing, and I sang into the mic near the end of the show with Nicci and her friend whose name I can't remember for the life of me, if she even gave me her name. I also eventually jumped up on stage and danced and just rocked out, really fuckin hard.
Then I came home and made myself a cheese quesadilla, damn I love mexican food.
