there was alot of promise to my saturday night. dinking. the aquisition ("borrowing") and use of water transportation devices in order to go rafting down the potomac river in the middle of the night. we had a canoe and a one man blow up dink. the other dinks were to be aquired upon arrival at the park. so, due to repeat offense, the park people locked up their shit a little better than usual. there was a cop row boat sitting on a trailer, so we took that. there were still 5 people needing transportation, so we opted to go to a 24hour walmart (i shop at walmart in emergencies only) to purchase rafts and oars (the cop boat only had one). apparently, no one believes in 24 walmarts anymore. dont they know people need camping gear at 145am? after driving to germantown and fredrick from potomac and back again, with a stop a sheetz that yeilded delicious sandwiches, donuts, and processed meat sticks, we spent the rest of the morning trying to locate our friends. we drove around from lock to lock, whistling and flashing headlamps, while running into the same cop a couple times. luckily by the time they arrived, it was early enough for us to pull off "we're about to go fishing.''
such is my life when left to poor planners
i would like to purchase a raft that could hold 4 people, but because im probably moving to san fransisco come january, i dont think such an investment would be wise.
and yes, i do realize what a long and pointless entry this turned out to be, but im bored.
