I have also had an opposite kind of experience; watching an old movie and realising how horrible it is. Flash Gordon, for example. I watched it a few months ago, and it must've been years and years since I've seen it before that. I have never seen anything so cheesy. True, it was fun, classic kind of horrible, but still pretty horrendous.
