As you may be able to see from my display picture, I met Richard Herring after his "Hitler Moustache" show in Rhyl, of all places. I've been a fan of his since Fist of Fun so it was awesome to get a picture alongside him with the fake, velcro moustache he'd kindly provided for myself and other attendees.
Those of you in the know will be aware of his daily blog "Warming Up" which to his credit he has updated pretty much without fail every day for the past 7 years. I've been reading through the first volume of his collected blogs and the idea of doing something similar became more and more attractive as I went through it.
I've recently become aware that time seems to be slipping through my fingers somewhat. This isn't because of some realisation that I'm getting old but instead is more that I'm going through the days, weeks and months without every really reflecting on anything. I make fairly sporadic entries on here wrapping up the more significant happenings, but that almost seems to me that I'm glossing over or editing out the more ordinary aspects of daily life.
Highlights are well and good, but without the more mundane things to serve as context, they're not really highlights.
It would probably be a better idea to commit to a more realistic update schedule, perhaps once a week (once a month would be better than current form) but I figure I'll throw myself in the deep end. Who knows, this whole endeavour could be a total failure by week's end.
Whether it's a massive essay or just a few lines about a cretin I dealt with in work, this will be updated daily, all without resorting to just posting Youtube videos and nothing else.
See you tomorrow

See you tomorrow
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.
Good luck with daily blogs!!!
