I'm 25 years old next week. My life's over, might aswell get that zimmer frame ordered. In all seriousness, I'm not really bothered. I like to play up to it though, and have started jokingly trying to live through others.
I spent the last week in Kent to celebrate my cousin's 21st birthday. It involved paintball, curry and a horrific trip through London. I have something of a weird relationship with London, to be honest. Some of my favourite people live there, and I've had some awesome times there because of it. As a country bumpkin though I'm not sure i actually like it there. I don't do well with the crowds and stuff, but I totally accept that's my fault. The most annoying part of the trip was my Mum and her boyfriend making out that London was somehow backwards. If something confused them or went wrong it wasn't because they were Welsh morons in a big city where things are different, oh no, its because London is wrong!
In all though I had a good time, even if my actual time in London itself was confined to Euston station, Charing cross and the taxi rides between. Paintball is always fun even though I'm shit at it and would clearly be killed almost instantly in any kind of armed conflict.
About 3 weeks ago I started going to kickboxing classes. The first and third weeks werent too bad, and I've found that being tall and skinny helped with the kicking and stuff. The 2nd week however I was in horrible pain throughout. Regular guy was on holiday or something and the class was taken by a younger guy who clearly fancied himself as some kind of UFC fighter, resulting in me being more tired than I've ever been in my life. Struggling not to puke and wincing in pain because of horrible cramp was not a fun night. I'll stick it out though, and I'm on the waiting list to join the gym at the end of my road. My days of getting tired from running up and down the stairs in work will soon be a thing of the past.
I miss my guitar It's currently over in Birkenhead being setup by some kind of guitar savants in a workshop at the back of a music shop. Apparently having this tune-up done will turn my fairy cheap guitar into something that plays quite well rather than just being a piece of crap I've become sentimentally attached to. Should've only taken 2 weeks, but with my trips to see Rise Against and my recent trip to Kent I've not had a lesson so havent been able to pick it up.
Otherwise everything is pretty much the same as its always been. I've been playing way too much Resident Evil 5 (which i fucking love) and watching Time Gentleman Please which I've always felt was horrendously under-rated and is FINALLY out on dvd. Justice! Meanwhile I'm trying to stay hidden in work because that way I avoid getting grief about stuff.
Hope everyone is good. I'll try and update before a month passes this time.
Have some Rise Against who were fucking great live AGAIN
