God I can't believe how long that sad blog stayed up while I was too lazy to change it.
First of all, I had the most amazing time in London for my birthday. Thanks to everybody who made it out to help me celebrate. It was great seeing you again, and meeting some of you for the first time. Stuff like that is exactly the reason I stay here
Tomorrow I have a web test at a local recruitment agency. Basically I'm going for a job as a "data analyst" for a business that was set up by a German finance consortium. The job entails sitting at a computer (usually while listening to an iPod) and using Google, Wikipedia et al to verify the details they have about stuff.
It's a tiny bit less than I currently earn, but I'm willing to go for it just because it means less hours and having every weekend off - making me more available for SGUK meets and visiting a certain someone. The only thing I'm a little bit wary about it that a good friend of mine was supposed to start there today, but his start date was postponed a couple of weeks because an American client didnt pay their bill. With the first 4 weeks of the position being on a temp basis, I'm a little bit worried that I could quit my admittedly horrible job now, and then wind up redundant after a couple of weeks in a new position. It's something I'll have to ask about tomorrow, methinks.
I was offered a demotion in work the other day. Apparently they can tell that I'm not really enjoying it anymore and they wondered if I'd be happier with less responsibility (read : grief) It's not really viable because of the lower salary, plus it wont look great on my CV in the future. For now I'll just pretend to give a shit. I'll also be buying this CD when it comes out so i can play it in work

metaphorically, like. I'd be pretty crap at my own job with my fingers crossed all the time...
