More work whinging ahoy!
Yesterday i found out that I'm currently under what Watch_It_Burn labelled as "Corporate Suicide Watch" Basically, Dave the store manager has been instructed by the area manager to keep an eye on me. Make sure I'm not too pissed off about the whole disciplinary thing and stuff. At least they understand that the whole affair may have left me....unmotivated, and they recognise that theyre not likely to get the best out of me right now.
Apparently the dude below me is joining the military police in May. While this means I dont have to ontworry about him trying to steal my job, its come at a point where i dont want it any more. Also its resulted in a little tussle between 2 other people for who gets his job. They dont seem to understand it'll be based on who deserves it - they just both feel theyre entitled and whoever doesnt get it will probably get pissed off and leave.
One of the most annoying things lately is the "Assistant Manager Development Pack" that the company has rolled out. I got given it a while ago and basically I have to complete it all and then they'll decide on whether I can get a promotion. Only problem is I dont want a promotion, I'm happy trundling along as I am until i find something else I'd rather do. Naturally though everytime the area manager comes down I get grief about not having done it yet.
I resent the way im being treated and I resent the implication that this stupid pack is part of my job and that you can force me into doing it. I dont want a promotion. I know that makes me look unambitious, but the fact is I just don't want to work for you people anymore. I am in a holding pattern, and am merely here to do my job and get paid while I look for something else. No amount of "measuring my commitment/motivation following the disciplinary action" is going to change that.
