Starting to get on really well with the actual store manager now. The other night we had a product night thingy where we all stayed after work and ate KFC with company money while playing Gears of War and stuff. He seemed to open up a lot and we're starting to get more and more comfortable with each other, which is cool. I can see him hating me this week though, especially since he's gonna have to find a way to make it to the store for the midnight launch of the PS3. It's not that i cant be arsed doing it, I'm going to see 300 in Manchester on the big shiny IMAX screen so there's no way I'm working at midnight.
Today I made the mistake of watching "Swingers" which left me with an inflated ego and an odd amount of self-esteem. Believeing myself to be "money" and thinking I could probably benefit from being less of a nerdy shut-in , I planned to go to the local band night and find myself a girl. Then it turned out all my friends had either no money or they just couldnt be arsed. I wasnt gonna go drinking alone, thats just sorta....weird. Instead I stayed in my nerd-hole, playing the copy of Crackdown i'd borrowed from work, listening to "S&M" by Metallica and drinking way too much Sprite.
I also started to chip into this book
Ahhh the Darkness Compendium. It's absolutely fucking huge. From a cost-effective stance its pretty cool, but whoever decided to bind over 40 issues of a comic into one paperback needs a fucking kicking. It's about the size of the yellow pages and weighs about the same as a fucking XBox. It's a nightmare to try and read and it suffers greatly from that annoying thing some trades do where the artwork disappears into the spine and you cant make it out properly. Still, I'd forgotten just how much I like the original Garth Ennis run of it
Thats all for now. I hope anyone that's going to Brighton Meet has a great time. Turns out I could've gone after all but its too damn late now
