Recently I'd been doing really well in trying to clear my overdraft. For some reason since around the time I did that mansion film thingy I've not had much of a desire to buy shit. Anyone that knows me will understand how weird that is, and that its very rare for me not to spunk all my cash on DVDs, comics, CDs, games or even snacks.
In the past 3 weeks or so I'd managed to reduce my overdraft by almost 30%. Then everything seemed to go wrong . Now, admittedly this is all my fault. I shouldn't really be complaining about my lack of cash because really I just spunked it all on stuff I want. In the past week I have purchased:
King of the Hill : Season 4
Watchmen
Captain America : Red Menace Vol.2
1 pair Vans Warped Tour slip-ons
1 Pac Man belt
1 Venture Bros t-shirt
When you put it in a list like that it doesnt seem nearly so bad. The real bastard was having to replace that fucked up tyre on my shitmobile. They couldnt actually find any punctures on it, but since it was nearly dead anyway I figured I may aswell replace it now and give myself some piece of mind. If life insurance people on TV are to be believed - that stuff is priceless.
In a weird way my job has actually gotten a lot worse now that I've handed in my notice. Time was if a customer pissed me off I'd just scream at them in silence, possibly telling myself how much I hope somebody burns them in their sleep. Now that I'm leaving at the end of the week I wonder why I actually give a shit anymore. The actual reason is accrued holiday pay, and its ability to replace my ailing mobile phone. I forfeit that wonderful money if I fuck off before my notice is done.
The problem is turning off that voice that says "Fuck it, you know you could just walk out now" whenever I get grief from someone. Oh well, I guess its character building.
I start my new job on Monday. Turns out i'm training for much longer than I had been told I would be. The plus-side of this is that I can claim back any expenses on getting to/from my training store. Part of me really considered just staying in a hotel for 3 weeks and sending them the bill but that seemed like pushing it.
Also, I found out that Daily Motion will let me watch Battlestar. While the picture quality isnt as good as I'd get watching it on Sky One i don't have to put up with the annoying thing my old TV does where it cuts out the odd line of dialogue. Also means i dont have to fuck about with torrents.
Now, in the spirit of starting my job in a games shop here's the game I'm most looking forward to in the near future. I'll kill anybody that stands in my way of buying this fucker
Curse my minor illness indeed, curse it to hell and damnation. What was those things the bad guys were sent off into space in in one of the Superman films? You know, those flat panel things. Perhaps we should put it in one of those.
