Circling and circling and circling. Life is forever spiraling. I'm at such a neutral point right now. I'm seemingly stuck in my town with my job for a while longer, but suddenly that doesn't seem so bad, at least for a little bit. Instead of going to the gym everyday I've been walking a lot and realizing how much I like living in the woods. Walks here are great, I see deer, weasels, trout, and random mystery people everywhere I walk. Yes I'd have more to do moving back to the city but it's summer and summer is perfect in small towns. Walks through the woods, sitting by the lake, giant bonfires. This will be alright. Trying to be a better friend was seemingly backfiring. My normal group of friends is Jeff, Grande, John, and Nick. Due to John and Nick living farther away it's mostly Jeff, Grande, and I. So now instead of trying to hang out once every couple of weeks or so I try to hang out most weekends and maybe a bar night here and there on a weekday. Seems they enjoy the super casual occasional friendship I used to prefer. I think I see them less now. However while talking to my mom the other day she asked me about my old group of friends I used to hang out with every Friday night with during High School. Well that group had fallen apart due to petty arguments, everyone having a crush on the one girl, and just plain growing up. Well I sent out an e-mail to everyone and all of them want to get together for lunch (and apparently go to Six Flags, for old times sake). So life is improving, maybe not in the ways I was trying to make it, but then again it never works that way does it.
Also tomorrow is my Birthday. I'm getting a present for my Grandparents which I'm pretty pumped about. I'm getting two out of print books from them. One a Vonnegut, and the other a compilation with a Vonnegut story in it. I also bought myself a signed and stamped copy of Chuck Palahniuk's new book (and for the same price as an unsigned copy. Now I know people either love or hate Palahniuk as he does tend to write the same story again and again but you have to appreciate the fact that getting a signed book is pretty sweet (at least if you're a book nerd like me) and also it'll likely be worth something in the future.
Well that's all for now.
