ugh today was fustraing. rather then think more about it i think i'll write about something completely different.
hmm...i just can't seem to determine what that completely different thing is.
i'm really excited to get back home. leicester is such a great town. i lived there from the time i was born till i left for a college. it's a relatively small town, the kind where everybody seems to know everybody. in fact i'm quiet confident that i do know everybody, maybe not by name, but i can at least tell you wether someone is from town or not. this is likely due to several reasons. one, i've grown up playing sports, going to church (against my will), working, going to school, and being a boy scout etc. in my town. 2. i'm at least a fourth generation resident of the town. 3., i am extremely close to my grandfather who seems to not only know everybody but know what they do and who their family is. 4. i work at one of the three liquor stores in town (my grandfather owns it, and my uncle owns one of the other two) and have worked there since the age of 13 and before that often played there. 5. the liquor store is where everyone comes to get their news. 6. when in town i eat breakfast at the local restaurant everyday and am considered a regular and even have my own coffee mug there.
i can't wait to get back for a bit. it's such a laid back town, a great escape from all the drama of dc.
leicester doesn't have much to offer but it has a few selling points. one, spider gates; supposedly one of the most haunted cemeteries in the country. two, hot dog annies; the best hot dogs anywhere (although worthless to me know i have become vegetarian). three; the term minute men was first coined in leicester. well i guess that's all. o well.
