WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
As of last night I am done with the night shift for the here and now, and because of federal regulations I can't work this afternoon's shift, so I start in tomorrow at 3. It's going to be nice sleeping during the dark part of the night instead of working it. Yay for having my circadian rhythm respected yet again.
Here's a pic of what I drive occasionally at work.
It's a pretty cool switch engine, a bit old, but it gets the loco's in and out of the roundhouse with the greatest of ease.
My TV is half crapping out on me, and it's only a little over two years old, it's doing this damn thing where it has to be on a while before the picture completely comes on which sucks. A few months ago it had a ghost image and then it started really messing with me, guess I am going to have to look into a new one one of these days, but for now a little patience seems to do the trick, and I will run with that.
I have been doing something I like to call "City Ranching". It consists of making sure that the little robins in the yard are out of the way when I let the dog out, he is a bird dog so when he sees something flying he gets excited, and the new guys don't fly so fast. I really get a kick out of watching them sit and chirp for their mother to bring them something to eat. For a while it was just one, but the last couple days their have been another two out there as well. I don't know if they are all from the same nest, but I get a kick out of those little guys.
The second half of the "City Ranching" involves little squirrels, they were running around with their mom the other day trying to get from our yard to the neighbors when a blackbird was dive-bombing them, and that pissed me off. After the mom and one got across the street one was left behind due to the bird, but a little while later I noticed that one out in the yard eating seeds and whatnot so I went and put some nuts out. I noticed later a bigger one eating the nuts so I have been putting them out each day and it keeps coming back, making noise at the dog when he goes out.
Anyways that's City Ranching for you!!
